The Syracuse Metropolitan area is a Summer Paradise and Winter Wonderland!

Nestled in the heart of Upstate New York between the Adirondacks and the Fingers Lakes and between the Catskills and Lake Ontario, Syracuse is located in the Center of New York State. The Syracuse region is a major urban center with all the arts, culture, entertainment, lodging and dining facilities typically found in any metropolitan area. Syracuse is unique, however, in offering visitors a sophisticated arts and cultural scene surrounded by miles of beautiful rural landscape dotted with many lakes, big and small. It is also a great four-season destination with a wide variety of things to do and see at every time of the year. Many festivals and events, the largest and most popular being New York State Fair, are held each year and offer something for every one.

Syracuse is a well-kept secret, one reason being is the University gets all the national attention. Many newcomers are surprised to learn that Syracuse has all amenities of big city living, but the feel of a small town. Syracuse is the fifth largest urban area in New York State, about the 80th largest in the country.
